Maintenance Terms
Customers are responsible for:
- Daily maintenance; inspect the equipment as if it were your own, following the DOT inspection regulations
- Lights
- Replace burned out bulbs
- Replace broken or lost lights, lenses, light assemblies and reflectors
- Brakes
- Check brake adjustment – adjust as needed
- Check braking system for wear including hoses, tanks and brake shoes – notify Palmer Leasing if any brake parts need replacement
- Tire damage or blowouts due to road hazard curbing, improper tire pressure or other
- Tires
- Maintaining proper tire pressure
- 85 PSI for bias tires
- 100 PSI for radial tires
- Flat tires and run flats
- Tire damage or blowouts due to road hazard curbing, improper tire pressure or other
- Lubrication
- Check and maintain proper axle oil/grease level
- Damages to equipment during the lease
- Lease payments until damaged equipment is returned to ready/leasable condition
- Troubleshooting
- Scheduling and bringing equipment to Palmer for regular maintenance or required repairs
Palmer is responsible for:
- Yearly FOID inspections (customer is responsible for bringing equipment to Palmer for inspection)
- Scheduled Maintenance (Trailer Maintenance Schedule)
- Brakes
- Worn brake parts
- Brake shoes with 1/4" lining depth
- Defective brake parts
- Cracked or non-operational components
- Tires (Tire Replacement Policy)
- Tires with 2/32" tread depth
- Failed tires
- Lubrication (Lubrication Maintenance)
- Check and maintain proper axle oil/grease level
- Normal wear and tear (Normal Wear Definition)
- License and titling
